If a woman is going through a situation or difficult time in life and needs support in setting her goals to obtain a desired outcome, then coaching could be the answer. Many of the issues we work on together include but are not limited to relationship problems, anxiety, codependency, loss, letting go, and life transitions.

This video offers an example of a tool we use in coaching to help overcome codependency issues that so many of us struggle with!  The video is approximately 15 minutes long.

EVOLVE! A Personal Growth Coaching Program
Facilitator:  Bonnie Harken, NCLC

What is this program?
Coaching is about stability and growth rather than dysfunction and healing. Whereas psychotherapy and counseling are primarily about the past and present, coaching is primarily about the future.

As a coach I help you hear yourself more clearly and gain a greater sense of what you are being drawn to. Our Evolve! coaching program helps you develop plans and take action to ensure follow-through as you evolve to a new phase of your life.

  • What is the advantage of group coaching?
  • Peer Learning process: A collaborative group learning environment where you can learn from the insights and contributions of peers, as well as your own reflections.
  • The peer learning process may feel “less on the spot” and provide more time for reflection and articulation of your insights. The “collective wisdom” created and explored is often identified as a key benefit.
  • Lower Cost: Coaching in a group oriented, defined program not only offers cost effectiveness but also defines your financial investment for budgeting purposes as opposed to individual sessions which cost more and do not have a defined beginning and ending point.
  • We offer a free 20-minute phone interview to help you understand the coaching process and to evaluate whether coaching is the answer for you.
  • We also offer individual coaching upon request at our location or via face time electronic methods. Call for details or email us!
  • This program is offered monthly -

Dancing in a Minefield (Parenting Teenagers)

There is a  delicate dance between parents and their emerging teenagers. It is much like dancing in a minefield; you often don't know where the bombs are or when they will explode. This series offers parents tools for this season of parenting. The topics  are
•              how to create a solid, balanced approach for relating to your teen
•              how to  communicate unconditional love
•              how to handle teenage anger, as well as your own
•              how to help your teenager grow spiritually and intellectually
Through creative therapeutic approaches, parents would receive encouragement and information to guide them through this minefield called adolescence.

It’s Not Easy Being a Teenager:
Skills for Handling Your Emotions

4 Day Intensive Outpatient Program

Teenagers face a lot of emotional issues during this period of development. They're faced with questions of identity, separation, relationships, and purpose. The relationship between teens and their parents is also changing as teens become more and more independent. Parents often have a difficult time dealing with their teen's new-found independence.

Teen anger takes many forms. It may be expressed as indignation and resentment, or rage and fury. It is the expression of teenage anger -- the behavior -- that we see. Some teens may repress their anger and withdraw; others may be more defiant and destroy property. They will continue their behavior, or it may escalate, until they decide to look within themselves to the roots of their anger. But teenage anger is a feeling, an emotion, not a behavior. And anger is usually caused by something going on in a teen's life.

Crossroads will help teenagers understand their anger, emotions, and interactions with their parents.  What happens?  Teens are simply negatively reacting to their parent's behaviors, and parents react back in an equally negative manner. This sets up a self-reinforcing pattern of interaction.

Unless we work to change our own behavior, we cannot help another change theirs. We need to respond rather than react to each other and to situations. The intention is not to deny the anger, but to control that emotion and find a way to express it in a productive or at least, a less harmful, manner.

Food: Friend or Foe?

This program will help you understand the roots of your behaviors and thoughts and your relationship with food.  Have you been on diet after diet and find yourself in an endless cycle of weight highs and lows? Can't stick with a diet? Do you self sabotage your efforts to be healthy? Does someone else in your life sabotage your efforts? Do you struggle with feelings of guilt, disgust, and depression? Why is it such a struggle? Understanding your own behavior is a key to recovery. Our workshops are intensely focused and action oriented to help you discover the "whys" behind your struggles and learn how to move beyond today with a new confidence to change your life. Begin your journey of finding renewal, hope, joy, direction, and passion....

  • The emphasis of our therapeutic and personal growth workshops is to help you discover and develop your identity beyond your issues.  Each program is a blend of didactic presentation, group discussion, and therapeutic exercises.  Each program offers a healing curriculum with a non denominational Christian perspective.

Relationships:  How to Get the Life You Want

  • Are you a woman who keeps making bad relationship choices? Have you invested yourself in a relationship that has left you deeply wounded?  Have you been abandoned, taken advantage of, and left with little to show for what you have given?  Lost your sense of security and personal value in the process?  Do you repeat the same mistake over and over or have you locked the door to your heart entirely? What are you really getting in the relationship that you have now? Are you getting the whole cake, or are you settling for crumbs?  Why is it so difficult to change (or end) a relationship even when you know it is toxic for you?
  • “We are wounded in relationships and we are also healed in relationships. The thing that wounded us is also the thing that God uses to heal us.”
  • This program will provide you with a toolbox for change. Practical methods you can use to understand and improve your relationships.
  • Begin your journey of finding renewal, hope, joy, direction, and passion....

Getting Your Needs Met:  Relationship Communication Skills

  • If you have identified yourself as a codependant you may be waiting for the person you’re involved with to change first ……well I have bad news and good news.  You have waited a long time and you are the one that has identified that codependency is creating chaos and emotional pain in your life. You can change; but you must break the codependent pattern of reacting.
